I just paid 20% juice to buy a half point making Texas A&M +14 tonight. Is this in general a stupid thing to do? I normally wouldn't but I had my mind set on A&M and liked 14 much better than 13.5. Thanks for any advice.

Subject to debate. From a numbers standpoint, if you land on the number (in this case, 14) once out of every ten times you would have otherwise lost, you are breaking even.

Personally, I will buy to 3 and 7, but generally not to 14.

Not necessarily, but I believe have you a triplet of outs you could have found that tonight for 110 most likely. Not big on buying points. Obviously some stats need submitted on how often a game at 13½ lands on 13 and then do the math to see if there is value. I would think that over the course of a season one would not benefit by buying the ½ in this situation, therefore you may get lucky and hit one of the few that lands on 13 and is a winner tonight.

The linesmaker knows this is an option and maybe an opportune time for the books to pick up some xtra cash with the buying into the 14.
